Opera House Cup News

Dear Opera House Cup and Nantucket Regatta skippers,

The 15^th Nantucket Race Week and 46^th Opera House Cup are rapidly approaching! We already have some wonderful new and returning boats registered, and would like to encourage you to register for the Opera House Cup Regatta, August 19, 2018, and the Nantucket Regatta, August 17-18, 2018, if you have not already done so. The registration fee for each regatta is $350, and increases to $450 after August 1^st. Both the Nantucket Regatta and the OHC are part of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, and we thank Panerai for being our OHC title sponsor for the 13^th year.

Some key points to consider:

• Thanks to the generosity of the Nantucket Yacht Club and the Great Harbor Yacht Club, we have a limited number of complementary moorings available. Please let us know if you need one on your registration form. Moorings, dock space and the anchorage are all extremely limited.

• If you haven't already done so, please update your CRF MkII rating for 2018 at classicratingformula.com. You can register prior to receiving your new rating.

• We will once again give the schooners their own start and course for the Nantucket Regatta.

• New: Schooners will start last for the Opera House Cup.

• New: There will be a separate check-in boat for the Opera House Cup, which will be anchored between the end of the jetties and the signal boat/start area.

• New: There will be a digital notice board on nantucketraceweek.org for the Nantucket Regatta and on operahousecup.org for the Opera House Cup for improved communication of information.

• New: The Town of Nantucket has allowed us to slightly increase the size of the OHC Awards Party, so please let us know if you need additional tickets for your crew. The party is still limited to OHC competitors, sponsors and key volunteers.

Nantucket Race Week and the Opera House Cup are the primary fundraising events for Nantucket Community Sailing, and allow NCS to teach 1,000 kids to sail and provide $150,000 in scholarships and free sailing to underserved children and adults each year. Please consider a sponsorship or Friends of the Cup donation, and thank you in advance for your support.
